Not A Fun Day...

Both kids are driving me batty today, Logan is still sick yuck, Ava is clingy as can be and her nose is running now, big bed time battle with both of them and of course hubby us up in WI all day/night and I get to deal with bedtime drama all by myself again. I need a glass a wine so bad, but all we have in the house is red and I hate red wine, we just use it to cook with. Wah!

The kids got their Easter baskets from my grandparents in AR today, so they had fun opening all that fun stuff.

Here are some pictures...

It Just Won't Stop!

Logan hasn't puked in 24 + hours so that is good, I think yesterday's episode was because of the milk, but now we have moved back to diarrhea. I actually think cleaning that is way worse. I am living in hell right now, and in case you were wondering it smells really bad in hell...

But other than the poop troubles, he must be feeling better today because his three year old self is shinning through today ((eye roll)). He is currently demanding Cheetos, poor kids doesn't' understand, he keeps telling me his all better, but the smell he keeps emitting begs to differ.

We just got done giving Ava her bath, mmmm clean baby smell and I got some windows open so hopefully we can get some fresh air in the house and get rid of the germs.

I can't wait to go to skating later, I need to get out for awhile and get a good workout in. I am getting so close to landing my axel, I just have to start going for it, but that means a lot of falls and I just don't want to do that to my hip yet, I'll have to see how it feels tonight but I am at the point where I just have to go for the one foot landing which means I am going to bite in a good deal of the time till I get it worked out....fun times!

Milk Doesn't Always Do a Body Good...

My wonderful husband had the bright idea that it would be ok to give Logan some milk this morning, after being sick yesterday...yea not so much.

Now I can't get that putrid smell off the carpet in his room, it really is the worse smell none to mankind. Other than the milk incident he has been ok today, he is got a fever again but is eating crackers, toast and banana and sipping on some juice/water. I think he would have been ok today if Matt hadn't given him that milk.

Ava is still ok thankfully as our the rest of us. I can't wait till this bug is out of the house. Blurg.

You Know It's Bad When...

It's 2am and your 3 year old comes into your room and says he "spit" (puked). Gross, looks like his cold thing is now a stomach thing. He got sick once, was fine all day, hubby went to work came home we gave him some dinner, he puked that up...fabulous. Oh and throw in some diarrhea to boot. Hopefully this will be a quick thing and we will all be healthy for Easter next weekend. This is by far the worst part of being a Mom for me, I hate watching him get sick, I hate having to worry about it hitting the rest of us, even worse now that we have Ava, but hopefully her roto vax will do it's job along with the magic mommy milk and she will stay healthy.

Once Logan was in bed I ran out to Kohl's so at least I got out of the house some today. We had a fun week planned, and hubby was going out of town on Wednesday, so hopefully we won't have to cancel everything...blah.

Glee Makes It All Better...

I had a ton of running around to do today, but the upside of that was getting to listen to the Glee soundtrack in the car while running all over Gods green earth today. Since Logan is still sick I got to run around alone which always makes things easier, not that I don't love outings as family. I hit Kohl's because I had a 30% off coupon and I got some work clothes for hubby and come really cute Vera Wang capri's for myself (in hopes that the weather will warm up enough to wear them soon) I didn't' want to be gone too long so i didn't get to use my coupon as much as I wanted, I have to get Logan summer clothes and Ava will need a couple of things too, so I am going to go back tomorrow hopefully and get some more deals. By the time I got home no one really anted to make dinner so we got some Subway and called it a night. The kids are both in bed and Matt and I are watching Superbad, Saturday nights are way to exciting over here I know.

At Least It's Friday

Matt's Mom came out to the kids tonight, Logan played Wii with her the whole time, he sure loves the Wii lately, it reminds me that he is getting bigger and liking big boy toys now. Ava got lot's of attention and didn't nap so she actually went down for the night at 9:30 awesome! Hopefully she won't wake up in the middle of the night but it would be great if she started going down for the night earlier than 11 or 12, we should work on that I guess.

Since we are home bound this weekend, hopefully I can get some stuff done around the house, I have to run some errands tomorrow and finish up Easter shopping for the kiddos.

Oh and I got the Glee soundtrack, it is awesome. I am going to crawl in bed with the iPod and listen to it, I can't wait for Glee to get back on the air next month!

Ugg Here We Go Again...

Logan woke up with a slight fever and nice runny nose...fabulous. My Mom is sick too and I feel like I am getting something as well, we must have picked up something at my Aunt's birthday party last weekend. Such a bummer, Logan was suppose to have a sleepover at Grandmas this Friday hopefully he forgot about it. He is going to be bummed that he isn't going to gymnastics tonight though, but luckily he doesn't have MDO this week (spring break) or next week (Good Friday) so he should be feeling fine by the time he has school again. Ava is being unbelievable today, and well the past couple days. I know her teeth are bothering her, but maybe she is getting sick too. She won't let me put her down, she doesn't want to sleep so she has to cry it out in order to take a nap, which I hate doing, but damn she leaves me no other choice. I don't ever remember Logan being so clingy this young, Matt says he was, maybe it didn't seem as bad at the time since I didn't have another kid to take care of. So if anyone comes over to my house I have a good excuse as to why it looks like a tornado hit it. Something tells me being stuck in the house this weekend with sickies and Matt having to work on Sunday that it's going to be a long annoying weekend.

Ok that was more than a taste, but I can't stop myself when it comes to my beauties!

Hip Is Feeling Better!

I had skating tonight and my hip felt really good, granted I only had class tonight and not a private lesson so I didn't skate as long, but still my hip kept up and it felt good. I will probably only have one more PT session and then I will be on my own to strengthen it up, but I can notice a difference already on the ice and I have more good days than bad pain wise now, hopefully it will keep getting better. I had to rush home from skating because Matt had a lodge meeting again tonight, so we didn't get to watch LOST yet bummer and I had to get Logan to bed while dealing with Ava which always makes for a fun night. Logan went to bed fairly easy for me though and now Ava is asleep, in her crib (Whoo Hoo!) and Matt is still not home from his meeting. I hope he knows he is heading out to get diapers once he gets home, we are dangerously low...

Whoo Hoo For Counter Space!

Matt finally got the new microwave range installed and it works and everything! It is sooo nice not having the microwave on the counter now, so much more counter space, it's awesome. Of course the new microwave makes our stove look even more outdated so I can't wait to get the new stove now. It's true what they say you shouldn't start redecorating for remolding because you won't want to stop, there is always something else to fix. Anyway, I am very proud of Matt he did everything without really knowing what he was doing, he is so handy.

In other excitement, I had my eye exam tonight and I no longer have the astigmatism in my right eye that I did last year, this is awesome news because contact lenses for astigmatism are really expensive!

Anyway, her is our new range hood in all it's glory.

Busy Sunday

We had another busy Sunday, two birthday parties to be exact. First we headed over to my Godsons 5th birthday party, Logan had been looking forward to playing with his cousins all week, so he of course had a ball and was not happy when it was time to leave to go over my step-grandma's house for her 80th birthday, but he survived. We had a nice dinner and some cake over at Grandma's then headed home. Hubby is currently trying to finish putting up the range hood microwave, but from the sounds coming out of the kitchen doesn't sound like it's going to well. I can't wait to have the kitchen in order again, having the power off is annoying. I can't wait until the kitchen is all done, it's going to look so much better! Our new sink should be here about the middle of next month and we are also getting a new stove. The only thing we have to wait on is he new fridge, the one I really wants is spendy, got to save those pennies. Off to relax busy week coming up!

Surprise!

We headed up to WI today for my Aunt's surprise 50th birthday party, and yes she was very surprised! Logan had a blast playing with his cousins and Ava had all the attention she could ever want, I don't think she got put down the whole day. The kids slept on the way home so Matt and I had a nice ride back to IL. Once we got home we got Logan to bed, which took forever because of course he woke up right before we got home, all refreshed from his 2 + hour nap on the way home, so he didn't get to bed until 10 (great we have two more birthday parties tomorrow he ought to be chipper for those) and Matt worked in the kitchen some more, finished caulking changed the light switch covers. Tomorrow we have my cousins sons 5th birthday party to go to and then we are going over to my step-grandmas to see her for her 80th birthday, so I am off to bed, well not until I am done watching season one of Glee, which I am now totally addicted too...

Updates...

1. my corned beef and cabbage dinner turned out sooooo good, we have a lot of left overs too, very excited about that! Logan loved it so that was a plus and we gave Ava some bananas for the first time, she wasn't to keen on them (yes I know you are suppose to start with veggies then move to fruit, but really it doesn't matter all kids end up liking fruit more) she was making some funny faces while trying to eat it, got some pictures of that.

2. The counter top are done! They turned out so nice, my hubby rocks. He still has to caulk around the back splashes and we are still waiting for our new sink, but the big project is done at least! Up next is putting in the new range hood microwave, that should be interesting.

3. Ava slept in her crib for the first time last night, hopefully we will have a repeat performance again tonight. Logan woke up but didn't wake her up so that was good, and she doesn't seem to wake him up so that is all working out. Logan wakes up before she does, but he left her alone and she was able to sleep. Whoo Hoo!

4. I skated on Tuesday, I had taken last week off because of ice time being cancell
ed and wanting my hip to rest a bit because the PT is really working it hard. So my hip felt great for the first 30 minutes, then it was bothering me a lot more than usual on the ice, by the time I got to my lesson I was pretty much spent, hopefully it will be better next week, it has to get better otherwise I don't know how I will get through the ice show.

5. As I was getting Logan's bath water ready tonight, he informed me that he has a little butt, and as I was bending over putting bubbles in the tub, he informed me that I have a big butt. At least he knows his opposites..

Not so into the bananas

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Paddy's day! We are all wearing our green today and Ava is decked out for her first St. Paddy's day! I've got our corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots cooking away (this is my first year cooking it, hubby usually cooks it) and it smells so yummy, I just want to go eat all of it right now. Hope the luck of the Irish is with you today!

I Love Me Some Etsy!

I found the cutest hat for Ava on Etsy.com last week while looking for a flower headband for her Easter dress. It came in the mail the other day and she has gotten so many compliments on it and everyone asks where I found it, so if you are looking for unique handmade finds, check out Etsy, they have everything!

Got To Love 3 Year Olds

Today Matt informed me that during Logan's last bath he told Matt that his butt has a hole in it...
My guess is he got that tid bit of information from Once Upon A Potty which it does state that your bottom has a hole on it. I just had to laugh when I heard that.

Another 3 year old ism
When I am in the bathroom putting on my make up, Logan likes to stand on the toilet and watch me "cut my eyes" (curl my eye lashes) and "paint my eyes" (put on eye shadow) and then of course he asks for me to do the same to him, Matt should really have a talk with that boy... I pretend to "paint his eyes" for him and he always wants deodorant on, he is so funny.

Fun Sunday, Well Except For The Time Change...

We had a busy day today, and the time change kicked all of our butts this morning. Matt stayed up late to work on the counter tops, which by the way look awesome I'll get pictures up when they are finished. I was up late getting us packed for the day and the Easter outfits ready for pictures this morning, I can't wait to see them, our friend Lance always does amazing work. We then dropped Logan off at Matt's parents and went out to lunch after pictures with two other couples and finally got to meet Ava's belly buddy, such a cute little boy! We had some yummy Chinese food and some good times with friends. Home now and Matt is finishing up the counter, so one side of the kitchen got done this weekend, pretty good considering Matt had to work this Saturday and we were gone all day today. I am off to bed now, so tired, I want my hour back.

What Should Have Been...

Today (or there about, but today was my due date) would have been Peanuts first birthday. Such a weird feeling, I don't know how to even explain it. I am so sad that we lost Peanut, but if we had not lost Peanut we wouldn't have Ava, how do you reconcile that? I thought about Peanut a lot right after we had Ava, just wishing he or she had a chance to experience life. My loss was so hard, but I found peace and meaning in it and helped me come to the decision to go back to school and go into nursing, God had a plan for that short life. Our little Peanut always close to my heart.

Just Those Few Weeks
For just those few weeks
I had you to myself.
And that seems too short a time
to be changed so profoundly.
In those few weeks,
I came to know you...
and to love you.
You came to trust me with your life.
Oh what a life I had planned for you!
Just those few weeks...
when I lost you,
i lost a lifetime of hopes,
plans, dreams and aspirations.
A slice of my future simply vanished overnight.
Just those few weeks...
It wasn't enough time to convince others
how special and important you were.
How odd, a truly unique person has recently died
and no one is mourning the passing.
Just a mere few weeks..
And no "normal" person would cry all night
Over a tiny unfinished baby,
or get depressed and withdraw day after endless day.
No one would, so why am I??
You were just those few weeks, my little one.
You darted in and out of my life too quickly.
But it seems that's all the time you needed
to make my life richer
and to give me a small glimpse of eternity.

TGIF!

Logan is off at school, Matt is off today so he is out taking care of some errands and I have some piece and quite while Ava naps right now! We have another busy weekend, we are having the kids pictures taken for Easter on Sunday and then Logan is going over to Matt's parents and we are going out to lunch with some friends of ours, one of the couple's has a little boy about a month older than Ava (They were both suppose to be September babies, but he was due early September but came at the end of August and of course Miss Ava didn't come until October) and we haven't gotten to meet him yet and they haven't met Ava yet so that should be fun. We get together with these two other couple's for SSAC (Super Supper Adventure Crew) where we try out different restaurants each time. The rules for our dinner's are one, it must not be a chain restaurant of any sort, and two we must not have gone there before. So we have been to some yummy interesting places and each couple takes a turn planning the dinner...fun stuff!

I have to run around this weekend getting the rest of the their Easter assembles ready for this weekend, Ava 's dress is so beautiful and I found a sweater vest set that matches for Logan so excited to get a good picture of them together, the Christmas one was hard because she was so little still, so this one should come out cute!

In other fun news our counter top cover things came in so Matt has a new project to do and he promises it's not going to take a month like when he put the dinning room floors in last year. Good bye gross powder blue early 90's crappy counter tops...I hate you so.

We are also starting the cart buying process...oh joy. I really want and need a new car, we have really out grown both of our cars, but I hate the buying process. We are getting a used car, well mini van to be exact, looking at few different kinds. I really wanted to get the Toyota but I am a little scared about that now even though the mini van hasn't been apart of the recall...yet. We have to get my car sold first which means I need to find the title which I haven't seen since we moved in...lot's to do but it will be nice to have a car with four freakin doors for the first time in my life!

Mom, I Am A Big Girl Now...

As much as I hate to admit it, Ava is really getting big. She can pretty much sit unassisted now, I keep her Boppy around her and make sure there is nothing she can fall onto in case she teeters over, but she sits up really well and she started doing in last month, she is at where Logan was closer to six months. She loves being able to sit up on her own and play with her toys and pick which ones she wants to play with out, just so awesome to watch her play her little personality just shinning through. I took a bunch of pictures today while she was sitting up playing, I'll get to those in a minute. In other big news, she FINALLY rolled over from her tummy to her back (she has been doing back to tummy for awhile now) so I feel better that when her ped asks me next month at her check-up I can say yes this time. Admittedly she didn't get a lot of tummy time at first, one because she hates it and two because if she is on floor Logan is always around and I don't trust him not to fall on her or some toy to land on her. Now that she is stronger she tolerates it a smidgen longer but still hates it, but she is rolling now so we can check that off in the baby book now!
