Super Bowl Sunday

Eh don't really care that much, but I do like that the super bowl means yummy not so good for you food and snacks. We made this awesome artichoke dip in the crock pot and I could just eat all of it tonight...so freakin good. Ava got to experience her first super bowl, it wasn't as exciting as Logan first when Bear's were in it, but let's face it, it will be along time before that happens again! Sunday came way to fast this weekend, but that usually happens when Matt has to work on Saturday. I really hate not having two days of solid help with the kids, by Friday I really need it. I don't know how single moms do it, but I guess if you are in that situation you just do it like any mother would. We have a busy week ahead with a lot of annoying things to do which at the top of the list is tracking down Ava's social security number since the hospital screwed up and we never received it (didn't really think about it until my mother in law said she needed it to do our taxes...uh crap) which involved heading to the court building to get a birth certificate first. Ava also has a doctors appointment this week and we have to squeeze in time to get back over to the preschool we looked at to drop off registration which I want to get done ASAP since it's a popular preschool and I want to make sure Logan gets a spot. Yea and all this had to be done with an impending winter storm coming in...

No Diapers At School!

Logan went to school today with no diapers for the first time! He missed last week because he was sick so today was his first day back since potty training and he did awesome! His teachers said they asked him every time one of the other kids needed to go (bathrooms are outside the classroom/playroom) and he only needed to go once and he did awesome! Matt was off today since he has to go in on Saturday so he took him and picked him up showed him the potty at school and all that fun stuff. I am so proud of Logan he has really exceeded our expectations with the whole potty training deal. Matt took Logan to the library after school to get his winter reading program sheet stamped since he was finished so they hung out at the library for awhile and I got to clean while Ava power napped all day. I am hoping all this sleeping will help get her feeling better soon. Still doing breathing treatments every 4 hours so hopefully soon she will turn the corner.

That's about it, not much going on his weekend since Matt has to do a Satu
rday, his Mom is coming out tonight to visit so that will be nice for Logan and Ava.

Here is a picture of Ava in her new highchair. Matt or I were always holding her while we ate dinner so I decided to get the highchair out so she could sit with us, but I really hated our old one so I found this one on clearance at Target. It had been repacked and was missing a little basket thing so I contacted GRACO and they are sending one out to me...no charge, the
y have wonderful customer service. Yes I know it's all girly as Matt said, but I told him I plan on having another girl LOL! If not we always have the old one still or I will find another one I like better by then...

She really likes it in there and likes being up higher to watch what everyone is doing, won't she be excited when she actually get's to eat in it!

Fun For Ava

We brought up our excersaucer today and cleaned it up for Ava, she has been in the jumper for a month now but I waited with the excersaucer because when we put Logan in when he was that little we had to prop him up in it since the seat opening was a lot bigger than the jumperoo. I figured our chunky monkey was big enough for it now so we added it to the growing array of baby gear in our living room/dinning room. We put her in it and she really liked it, I think she likes being in this better than the jumperoo. I think she will like the jumper once she can really make her self jump. She really likes the toys on the excersaucer and I think they are at a better angle for her to play. So she has been in there today enjoying her self between treatments and eating and sleeping. She can even move her self around already and she is do darn tall it's on the highest setting too.

Here she is in all her glory (her eyes look so bad my poor girl)

Breathing Treatments Round 2

We took Ava to the doctor today as she was sounding a lot worse over night, and her doctor put her back on breathing treatments for now. We actually purchased, through our insurance, our own nebulizer now, since this is her second episode of wheezing in a short time our pediatrician recommended doing this so she can just call in the script next time and get her started sooner. I feel so bad for her, not even four months old and she is on her third cold and second time on breathing treatments. I knew we would deal with this since Logan is in school and exposed to lots of germs, but having a baby this sick is new territory for us, Logan didn't really get sick until after his first birthday. I just hate seeing her suffer like this. She has been having a hard time nursing which just adds to the stress of everything and I just hope she turns the corner soon. So for at least the next week we get to do breathing treatments every four hours and hopefully next week when we go to her four month well check she will get the all clear and we can stop. I hope she doesn't develop asthma or anything, since the day she was born she has always sounded congested so I hope this isn't a preview of things to come. I told Matt we are not having anymore kids in the fall/winter because babies and germy toddlers don't mesh well.

Earn Your Keep Kid!

Not much going on today, Ava is sick so we are just hanging around the house and I am cleaning. Logan loves to help me dust and do the floors, so I take his help when I can get it since I am sure he won't be to keen on doing chores when he gets older.

Going out to skating later for class and I am also doing a private lesson with my coach since there is no ice for the next couple of Saturday's because of hockey games...boo for hockey, you would think with 3 rinks in building they could keep the games down to two of them, but nope they often have to use the figure skating rink too. Matt and I are excited for the last season of LOST to start tonight, but that means Scrubs isn't on so that is a bummer. I hope they give answers for all the crazy that goes on, on that island this season!

I leave you with some pictures of my cutie pies!

Well That's Just Wonderful...

Ava is really congested and coughing and sneezing, I don't know why I thought she would be spared, but she has gotten everything Logan has. I am praying we won't be making a late night trip to the ER again. I might have to take her to the doctor tomorrow, she sounds like she did last time, but more coughing so I want to get her on breathing treatments right away if she needs them.

Logan is doing better, his cough still sounds bad, but not having attacks anymore and he is bouncing around the house like a rubber ball so he is on the mend. Potty training I guess is complete, we took him out in his undies for the first time yesterday (to Toys R Us to pick out a new train as his potty training reward...he got Edward) and he did great. I took him out again tonight and he did fine again. I am still in awe that is was this easy, I thought there would be more of a fight or regression as we had happen when we took the binky away, but nope he loves being a big boy!

As for me I have learned three new Mommy lessons
1. Only having to change diapers on one child rocks.
2. Folding little boy undies is the cutest thing ever.
3. 15 minutes is not enough time after a feeding to be playing airplane with Ava...yes my daughter puked right into my open mouth...it was REALLY DISGUSTING

I have just been on a deal finding bender the past couple of days, tonight I got a new high chair for Ava for $44. Matt and I both hated our old one from Logan so I wanted to find something new for Ava and I Target had this ultra girly one on clearance and after thinking about it for a day I decided to get it. Hey if we have another girl some day then great she can use it too, if we have a boy then we have the gender neutral one in the basement. We might put it together, Ava likes to be at the table when we eat (she is very interested in watching people eat, you almost feel kind of guilty doing it in front of her) so this way we don't have to hold her and she can still be up with us.

Ava is currently looking at herself in a mirror and just smiling and laughing away, how could you not smile at that beautiful baby!
