Hungry Hungry Hippos

We ran to Target to night to grab some baby food for Ava while it was on sale and of course since we all went, we had to hit the toy aisle for both my 3 year old and my 27 year old husband. Logan decided to convert his Easter egg hunt winnings (the kid ended up with $15 from Easter egg hunts!) into Hungry Hungry Hippos...

He was very excited about said game, and after he promised me he wouldn't eat the marbles or leave them where Ava could come upon them he happily tossed it into our cart along with a new matchbox car (like we need another one of those). He opened it the second we got home and after Daddy put it together (it looks very different than the version from our day) they were off gobbling up white marbles. Of course there is the cute pink hippo, which is one of Ava's nicknames (hey the kid likes to eat) I can't just see her slapping the pink hippo one day playing with her big brother.

I scored some cute dresses for spring/summer for Ava along with some cute leggings that were on clearance for her to wear with her onesies, and some cute shoes for the summer for her.

Logan protested going to bed because he wanted to play his game, we promised he could play first thing in the morning. Something tells me I am going to hear the slapping of the hippos around 6:30am...

Owww!

Not a great night on the ice for me tonight, very painful. My feet are killing me now that the weather is warming up and my feet swell a bit. My freestyle skates are a size to small from when I had Logan and of course my nice new synchro skates that barely got used are the right size but I can't jump in them (different boot, different blade for synchro) I think I might try and sell them and start a new skates fund, I really need freestyle skates and if I ever get back into synchro I can always just dye my freestyle boot (typically synchro teams use beige boots and freestyle boots are white) So anyway my feet were killing me, I bit it big time on a dumb spin and landed full force on my bad hip, which to that point was doing pretty good. After that my ice time went down hill, it hurt to much to do bigger jumps so I just worked on foot work and moves for the remainder of the time and luckily I didn't have a lesson also tonight that would not have gone good. I have a feeling I am going to be very sore the next couple of days.

Anyway hubby brought home New Moon for me to watch and he also brought me a bottle of my favorite wine so I am going to have a glass so it can be out of my system in time for my bedtime pumping session. Cheers!

Holy Hail!!

Man we just had a really bad thunderstorm that turned into a scary hail storm. I have never seen a hail storm like this before. I thought the roof of the house was going to collapse, or windows were going to start breaking. It was pea to grape size hail and it looks like it snowed out now. The bulk of it came down in about 2 minutes and of course woke Ava up, I don't know how Logan is still sleeping but he is thankfully. That was crazy.

Easter Party and Bowling!

We had a busy day today, but we had a ton of fun! We started the day at the Church where Logan attends MDO (Mother's Day Out) for an Easter Party. Logan was excited to go to "school" he has been off for two weeks for spring break and then good Friday. Just as we pulled in the parking lot my cousin and her two boys (whom Logan loved to play with) pulled in at the same time, they are members at the church so it was a nice surprise that they happen to be gong to the party too. Logan was shy at first because the party wasn't in his normal classroom, but he warmed up and made some cute crafts and an Easter basket for the egg hunt. The kids decorated cupcakes with all kinds of yummy stuff so they had that and juice for a snack and then they went into another room to read a story while they hid the eggs. Once the egg hunt was over we said our goodbyes and headed home for lunch and then out to my Mom's so we could all go bowling!

If you remember we were going to go bowling with my Mom and family for her birthday but Logan got car sick on the way out and we weren't sure if he was sick sick, or if it was just car sickness (it was) so we rescheduled and went today. Logan was a little scared at first because it was really noisy and the cosmic bowling lights were on, but once he started bowling he was fine and Matt had them turn down the music because it was really loud and we had Ava with us. Logan used the ramp to do his bowling, and he managed both a strike and to beat me in the second game we played, must be all the Wii bowling he does. Of course while he waited for his turn to bowl he grabbed Aunt Katie's iPod and played bowling on it, guess he had to hone his skills between frames. After bowling we all went out for ice cream and then back to my Mom's for dinner and egg coloring. Fun was had by all!

Poor Easter Bunny...

Today after Matt got home from work we headed to the mall to see the Easter Bunny, which Logan was excited about, until he saw the Easter Bunny. Cue big ol' freak out. He reacted the same last year, but this year he was ok with Santa so I thought maybe he was old enough to try the Easter Bunny again, but no dice, in defense of Logan I can understand why the Easter Bunny is a little freaky.

Ava on the other hand just sat on the Easter Bunny's lap like it was no big deal. So we still got a picture of Ava and the bunny for her first Easter. As we were leaving I said poor Easter bunny, I think you scared him with your crying and screaming Logan, so the rest of the night we kept hearing Logan say poor Easter Bunny. I think he was a little concerned whether or not he was still going to get an Easter Basket after the whole debacle.

After we got home we colored Easter eggs, which Logan loved, he wanted to do more, but only had a dozen, but we are going to do some tomorrow so he was happy with that and went of to bed. Busy day tomorrow but it should be fun!

Yummy Day

Matt was off today and the weather was beautiful which means we headed to Paradise Pub for lunch (a little hamburger joint that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network and it is literally around the corner from where we live and it is the best hamburger you have ever had. Matt worked on getting the new sink in today so we had to run around and get a couple of things in the morning, including a new faucet, can;t wait until it's all done! Logan is doing better today, he went to gymnastics so he was happy about that. I got to put one for Ava's new spring/summer outfits on today, I am so excited to put her in all these cute summer dresses she has waiting up in her closet!
